Proven ExperienceDavid Faulkner has over 35 years in nuclear power operations, maintenance, regulation, oversight, quality assurance, and nuclear safety. Mr. Faulkner has recently been a key leader in the development and implementation of the Department of Energy’s standards for commercial grade dedication of nuclear components, and providing expert level guidance to Aiken Technical College for a quality assurance degree program development and initiation of classes.
Mr. Faulkner also has extensive experience in nuclear readiness and startup, including operational readiness reviews, has led or participated in numerous readiness reviews, operational assessments, and independent reviews of various nuclear safety issues and safety analyses.
Mr. Faulkner has over 20 years safety analysis and risk assessment experience supporting both the DOE and operating contractors in the development and approval of safety basis documents for plutonium residue stabilization, interim storage of special nuclear materials, transuranic (TRU) and low level wastes, deactivation and decommissioning, and environmental restoration. He has provided independent and team-based nuclear safety reviews for new and major modifications to plutonium processing and storage facilities, and TRU and low level waste facilities. He has contributed as an author, team member, team leader, and peer reviewer to numerous unclassified and classified, substantial-effort safety analyses and risk assessments. He has also been involved in the development of standards for engineering program expectations as well as standards for nuclear safety. Mr. Faulkner is also a current member of the Aiken Technical College Quality Assurance Advisory Board.
