Mr. Thomas A. (Tom) Galioto has demonstrated a career of accomplishment in advancing both the private and public sectors of the nuclear industry. Tom is a detail- and action-oriented leader that focuses on achieving organizational objectives in the very regulated and safety conscious nuclear work environment. His experience includes ~20 years supporting the DOE-sponsored programs at Hanford and other DOE sites, and an additional ~20 years in the commercial nuclear industry with AREVA. Tom holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Mexico, and an M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Galioto successfully managed employee organizations within an international company, requiring critical communication and interface responsibilities with colleagues at all levels, as well as with utility customers, with the DOE, and with external suppliers. He managed all AREVA US/Far East BWR fuels contracts (totaling ~$1 billion value) within schedule and budget constraints as the Project Management (PM) Group Manager. He achieved ~$500 million in new revenue through successfully managing several major commercial/government overall (or primary partner) proposal efforts through contract implementation. He recently directed successful development/licensing efforts for nuclear fuel performance and maneuvering codes, and successfully resolved materials and fabrication issues allowing on-time fuel deliveries to utility customers. Earlier accomplishments included leading UNC Nuclear Industries efforts to successfully validate the continued operational safety of the N-Reactor.
